The Historic and Haunted Ghost Town of Bodie
The old mining town of Bodie, California is America’s best preserved ghost town. Dating back to 1859, Bodie is literally frozen in time and looked after as an historic park. The town is both authentic and mysterious, with original fixtures, furniture, and personal items in the buildings left untouched since their residents abandoned them.
Bodie abounds with legends of the paranormal, but none more famous than the haunted Cain residence. The man of the house had an affair with their maid. After being publicly disgraced, the unfortunate maid took her own life and reportedly haunts the house.
The Cain house is open to the public and has provided accommodation for park rangers. People have reported ghostly apparitions and strange music. Staying overnight in the house, park rangers and their wives have experienced paranormal events such as hearing strange noises, being paralyzed in bed, and seeing items move by themselves.
The most frightening legend of Bodie is a mysterious curse that follows many visitors after they leave the town. Allegedly, Bodie’s ghosts serve as guardians to the town’s property, casting bad luck and misfortune to souvenir hunters who take anything with them.
Each month, Bodie’s park rangers receive objects and letters from people who admit to taking items and beg the rangers to put them back. The letters tell tales of horrible incidents such as mysterious illnesses, car accidents, and even death. The rangers frequently speak of these accounts and assure the senders that the objects are always returned to their original places.

Logic and Howe’s personality aside:
Recruit Loghain. Have him on FRIENDLY. (Bugged in vanilla! Mod to unlock it exists, as does a clip on YT)
Ask whether you broke into Howe’s estate for nothing.
If he trusts you as a friend, he will tell you no, you didn’t. Howe suggested to Loghain that Anora be killed. Loghain rejected the idea. Anora knew of this. And given that Howe has done some SICK shit….. I wouldn’t feel safe in his custody. Would you? As for not wanting to be taken back to the palace…no, her father wouldn’t kill her. Some of her father’s PEOPLE (Many of which being in Howe’s employ) are another matter. That is why she cannot be seen IN CAHOOTS WITH HER DAD’S ENEMIES. If you rat her out, she salvages her precarious situation by telling her father’s right hand that she’s not supporting you. So that…in addition to a failed alliance with someone incapable of the basics of politics (As she sees it) she won’t lose all the support of her father’s faction who’d see her support of the Warden as a betrayal. (Loghain even does so, if she supports you at the Landsmeet)
As for the innocents the Warden kills to free her, the most important ally in the Landsmeet….
They are as innocent as the fanatical cultists defending their homes in Haven. Whom you all kill to find something nobody knows for sure to exist….and whose children the Warden condemns to a miserable death after slaughtering their families.
As innocent as many of Jarvia’s carta dwarves who turned to crime because of the system the likes of Harrowmont support.
Most of the people who die at the Warden’s hands in Howe’s dungeon are torturers, jailors etc. You also SAVE a bunch of innocents.
Was freeing Anora worth it?
YES.
Was she in danger?
YES.

tumblr is the reason why people think mental illness is “cute”. seriously though please don’t think having any type of mental illness is cute because fuck no they’re not ok
It’s not cool, it’s not trendy, it’s not hardcore.
Mental illness, emotional disorders, personality disorders, developmental disorders, sleep issues, the list goes on and on. It is incredibly offensive to those who not only struggle but attempt to not play victim who have these issues in society that a website glamorizes them. It undoes all the work different communities and individuals have done and puts us all back many years so just stop.
don’t want to spoil the post, but idea “wow mental illnesses are cool” is around at least since romanticism. I remember first poem we discussed on our literature lessons in high school was Adam Mickiewicz’s “Romantyzm” with narrator idealising girl with delusional attacks AND idealising people awed by her.
And since early 1800’s it’s still a strong movement.

Also, many cultures saw people with mental disorders and illnesses as closer to the spiritual world and being suberb.Let alone mention “holy fools” and - even more curious case - yurodivys.
I’m not sure about Ophelia, because I took an impression it was presented more as an effect of Hamlet’s behaviour (and he was an ass to her) and how badly even the sweeties people around can be affected by it than madness for sake of glamour
